#PrayForIndonesia

Actually, this is the post of allaboutindonesia.tumblr.com and I've also reblogged it, but I want to post it on my blog as well.

On Monday 26 October, an earthquake of 7.7 magnitude triggered a tsunami near Sumatra, killing at least 113 people and injuring many. On Tuesday 27 October, the volcanic eruption of Mount Merapi in West Java displaced thousands of villagers. The toll of deaths and injuries continue to rise, while family members continue to search for their loved ones.

I would like to extend my prayers and hope for those who were affected by these events during this difficult time.

And these disasters happened after the Wasior flood. :(
The flash floods in Wasior, West Papua, that have so far claimed 110 lives, were caused by environmental damage in upstream areas, where much of the natural forests had been converted for mining and plantation purposes, activists said Friday. In a joint press conference, activists from the Green Indonesian Institute, Mining Advocacy Network (Jatam), the Indonesian Forum for the Environment (Walhi) and Pusaka called on the government to review policies on natural resource management to avert future ecological disasters. And fellows Indonesian have been tweeting any news regarding the disasters in Twitter, using the hashtag #prayforindonesia.

I do pray for you, Indonesia. Please get well soon. :'(
